The well polished Mazda CX-3
The Mazda CX-3 GT is a very well finished CUV that’s sure to impress from the inside out on style, safety, and convenience. The verdict is still out on the performance front till we get behind the wheel, but they do continue to stay clear of CVT transmissions which is a good sign and a welcome difference from many manufacturers. The sweeping exterior coupled with 18in wheels certainly does exude a certain attitude, but without being as sharply aggressive as some other current design trends.
Mazda is big on safety with this little crossover touting it’s i-ACTIV AWD and i-ACTIVSENSE driving aids which include radar cruise control, smart city brake support, lane departure warning, and more. While the AWD system isn’t meant for off-roading, it is designed to optimized traction and keep the vehicle on the road in inclement weather. Something Mazda doesn’t talk about much is their polarized sunglasses friendly heads up display. Some other vehicles like the Kia K900 I almost missed the display on till I took my sunglasses off.
The interiors of Mazda have been top-notch for their segment in recent years and the CX-3 is no exception. Both the style and the feel of materials feel well thought out and put together – notably the two-tone seats are a nice touch. This little CUV is only slightly taller than the Mazda 3 and with reduced trunk space exchanged for increased rear leg room.
