Capture One Pro 10 Updated
I’m a little late getting around to this update on Capture One Pro 10 since there weren’t a lot of impressive sounding things with the latest version. As it turns out however it really is quite a welcome update. It all comes down to being better optimized and more efficient leading to better workflow. So much so that the new version is actually about 50MB smaller to my recollection!
Even the 8 year old MacBook Pro is more responsive with the updated Capture One Pro 10 running on El Capitan (last supported OS). Adjustment layer masking is the most obvious area of improvement, and it now works much more as you’d expect it to in terms of overall responsiveness of painting. Even with 7+ layer masks running it’s a total non-issue on the iMac. Thus far only about 4 layers have been used on the laptop with no noticeable issue. It may be worth noting that I use session when working on the laptop that then get imported into catalogs on the desktop, so the load is kept lighter on the older underpowered (under minimum spec) MacBook Pro.
Lastly sharpening now has an option for halo suppression which can come in handy in instances where higher levels of sharpening are needed without the typical over sharpen grossness:
Say tuned for more on Capture One Pro.
